Inline- Process Photometer Model MoniSpec-C-AD

Description:

The MoniSpec-C-AD process photometer measures the color of liquids in process pipes.

What does Color mean

In physics, light is regarded as electromagnetic waves.
Color is a sensory perception triggered by light and mediated by the eye.
Color is not a clearly defined quantity such as temperature or pressure, but a subjective impression.

What causes Color

A color sensation occurs when electromagnetic waves from the visible range (wavelengths of approx. 380nm – 750nm) hit the eye.

How Color is created

White light (colorless) consists of the sum of all colors of the visible spectrum. If specific wavelength ranges within this spectrum are absorbed, a color impression is created for the eye.

Measuring Principle:

Solids (turbidity) absorb light in the same way as color.
As solids absorb over the entire light spectrum, absorption is usually measured at two different wavelengths when measuring color. Color absorbs in parts of the visible spectrum, solid particles absorb over the entire spectrum.

Measuring channel detects the absorption caused by color and solid particles.
Reference channel detects the absorption caused by solids only.
Difference between the two signals gives the color concentration.
